A Stewart Christmas Day

Stewart Christmas Part 2

After church at my parents ward, with an accompanying Heather and Karl, we all drove back home to begin their portion of present openings. However somehow Ryan and Amy arrived after and Evelyn opened the first presents. Her biggest was this adorable pink wagon and a horse stuffed animal that fit perfectly in the wagon... as did she!

the Johnson's arrived maybe half an hour after Ryan and Amy and quickly got started on their presents from Mom and Dad.

(look at those 2 cuties!~)

though Karl and Heather opened their presents before the Johnson's, I didn't get pictures snapped yet so I made sure to get them after. they both got exactly what they wanted: Karl a toy helicopter and Heather a Skil saw.

(doesn't my brother look smashing in his suit?)

(i love this picture, i find humorous seeing Heather so pretty in her dress excited to get a "saw"...)

after the Pratt's arrived and his helicopter had charged, Karl tested it out. unfortunately the battery didn't last long and the time it took to charge was long, but we all enjoyed watching him fly it!~

the Pratt's stack of presents was HUGE! ...probably because they're number has grown to a whopping 7 people! they rival my own sibling count!

(unfortunately, every picture i took with McKay and his new Thor equipment had red eye in it. o well, he still looks mighty!)

i'm not sure how but i didn't get a picture of Ryan...

funny that i didn't get this finally uploaded till January 10th and yet Blogger still posts it from the time i began working on the post. o well, i just had to make sure it was perfect! its my family after all. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I love you Mom and Dad, Steph Aaron Parker Dallin McKay Sophie Jenna, Heather, Ryan Amy Evelyn, Kristi Kevin Kimble Karter Koltyn, and Karl!!!! <3

A Stewart Chistmas Morning

Happy CHRISTMAS DAY!!!

first photo. Mom and Dad and a smichen of the beautiful tree. it took nearly half a dozen pictures before Dad finally smiled for this one.

me and my new blanket. i told Mom that I wanted this fleece gingham for a new blanket. she made it even better by adding some owl flannel to the ends!! i contained my screaming with thanks yous.
(obviously not my best hair morning)

art supplies, i can never get enough!~
good thing about having 2 cameras, i take pictures of Mom and Mom takes pictures of me and Dad. everyone's photographed!

my sister Stephanie sewed this church bag for my Mom. Mom was surprised, i was jealous. its so cute and my sister has such great talent. good job Steph!

took Dad a while to understand most of his gifts, so smiles are rare, but i have a feeling that he'll put his new "toys" to good use.

Mom had the least number of presents (Dad and I tied), so she got to open the ones for "Grandma and Grandpa Stewart" aka "Mom and Dad." her necklace is a new one from Dad, she asked for a long one and that's what she got, but it's really pretty too!

Mom's camera was having malfunctions (seen in my bad hair picture), after getting his glasses and doing some tinkering, Dad was able to fix it and snapped this cute photo of Mom.

at first Dad wasn't sure about these wrenches from my brother Karl and then he realized what they were and a giant grin grew across his face, i think this might have been his most favorite gift, i haven't seen him smile so much in a while. good job Karl!

if you know me, you know i love owls. this Christmas i received a owl jewelry stand, an owl calendar, an owl journal, an owl mug, 2 owl dish towels, an owl necklace with my name on it, an owl necklace that doubles as a clock, a blanket with owls on it, and an owl figurine.

'O,O' <"Merry Christmas! hoot!"

Lunar Eclipse Morning

yesterday my teacher mentioned that there would be a lunar eclipse this morning starting at 5:45am. so i set my alarms and got up at 6am and considered going outside to see the moon. what luck that i could see it from my bedroom window!! so i set up my chair, got wrapped up in my blanket and sat and watched (while sketching out a couple future paintings since i sat there for an hour).

then about 10 minutes before it ended as the dark side of the moon had a redish hue and the light side took on a yellowish hue, i thought how cool a picture of it would be. so i ran down stairs grabbed my camera and was disappointed as usual with crummy pictures of a black sky with one white dot.

... i wasn't going to except that. so i grabbed my sketch book instead and some color pencils and drew my exact view. sorry its hard to see, cheap color pencils means zip contrast, very light picture.

(i realized that while i was drawing this i should have done it more for things in the past rather than just not posting. apology to my blog for ignoring it for a year!)

30 day challenge DAY TWELVE

DAY 12 - a picture of something you love

i thought that since my "hate" post was about food, i would stick with the theme. so here's my favorite food amongst everything else: chocolate. you don't pass up the opportunity to eat, drink, or sleep chocolate. i love it so much, most of my usernames contain the word. when asked "if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would you eat?" chocolate is my first answer.

I L<3VE CHOCOLATE!

30 day challenge DAY ELEVEN

DAY 11 - a picture of something you hate

you might not be able to tell from this picture, but i one thing i cannot stand is HOMINY. the corn wanna-be. its big, its grainy, and grossly soggy. i ate it as a child and could not stand it then. luckily Mom's stopped serving it and so i haven't had to eat it in years, but with just its name i still get a disgusting feeling on my tongue.

to anyone who reads this and actually LIKES hominy, then all to ya! ...you can have my share.

30 day challenge DAY TEN

DAY 10 - a picture of the person you do the most stupid things with

considering the fact that i treat my cats like people, anyone who observes me with them would probably agree that i act stupid with them. but i don't care, i love all my cats, ones past and ones now, and ones that moved out. my cats are all so silly, they make playtime fun; plus Panda is a schizophrenic, so she's doubly weird.

30 day challenge DAY NINE

DAY 9 - the person who has gotten you through the most

my parents have always been there to support me, especially my mom she went to every concert, drove me to all my friends' homes, and is still my personal psychiatrist. i can't image what i would do without my mom and dad, and i don't want to.

I LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!!!

30 day challenge DAY EIGHT

DAY 8 - a picture that makes me laugh

this is my niece Kimble. while camping this summer, she was a bit upset that she had to sit for a primary lesson and in rebellion put her chair bag over her head... gotta love her creativity.

Thanksgiving of Wonder 2011

this was indeed a very interesting Thanksgiving. it started like any other Thanksgiving, preparing the house for guests, doing everything possible to make the house look spectacular and food amazing (both turned out perfect, of course). all in conjunction with lots of eating, talking and entertainment starring everyone's little angel.

we waited awhile, relaxed a bit, and cleaned up. then oldest sisters, Heather and Steph, along with Steph's kids Parker, McKay, and Sophie, walked, rode and rolled over to Hermosa Vista Elementary School. it was so much fun running around my old playground with children that were new to it. geez, am i so much taller than i was back then. i even put on my roller blades Parker was borrowing and rolled around the basketball courts. it was hilarious when all the kids started running after me trying to chase me down then me trying to chase them.

luckily i had some time to rest again so that when my best friends called, i was ready to get back in action! friends Haley Boyle, Lara Boyle, Shelley Kleinman, and Luke Goodman went and saw the new Muphets movie. man was it so adorable and FUNNY, plus there were so many celebrities in it (besides the Muppets) it made my head spin.

and don't forget the giant movie ads for Sherlock Homes next month. TOTALLY SEEING THAT.

i had such a great time today, i'm so sad its ending. why must every new beginning be some other beginning's end? (a cookie to whoever can name that song)

so here are some highlight photos:

Karl bought these awesome wind-up airplanes that the kids and i had a blast with tossing outside. and Sharon (Karl's "plus 1") even helped make the kids some paper airplanes too!

such a look of concentration!
little basketball girl~

30 day challenge DAY SEVEN

DAY 7 - a picture of your most prized possession

first off HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

in trying to think of something i haven't said or posted (or i would say my family), i guess my most prized, physical possession is this: my laptop. it is really helpful when my dad's on the home computer or when my sister comes over and needs to borrow it, or when i want to watch netflix in my room, i feel like listening to music that i don't hear normally on the radio, doing homework, writing stories, and checking my status update for people's comments...

and its great for quick pictures with my adorable nephews and nieces. seen here is my oldest nephew, Parker.

30 day challenge DAY SIX

DAY 6 - a picture of someone you would love to trade places with for a day

do i need to explain this? all that's needed is one word... ok maybe two words: Flynn Rider. yes, yes, and yes. PLUS she has the gorgeous hair i've always wanted, the baking skills i dream of, can paint pretty much anything, and has a pet CHAMELEON (there's the one word). so she has a ton of chores, a wicked mother, and under house arrest for 18 years...

yep i choose Rapunzel.

30 day callenge DAY FIVE

DAY 5 - a picture of your favorite memory

each and every moment with my family is my favorite memory. i could never imagine my life without them; even through our quarrels, i love then more than anything.

Monday, November 21, 2011

30 day challenge DAY FOUR

DAY 4 - a picture of my night

yep, this is my night. marathon of psych and illustrating a commission for a novel cover on photoshop. i hate photoshop but its the best thing i have. anyone wanna buy me a new program?

this is gonna take forever, i'll never sleep again...

30 day challenge DAY THREE

DAY 3 - my favorite tv show (so obvious...)

my favorite episode: season 2 episode 13

30 Day challenge DAY TWO

DAY 2 - the person you've been closest to the longest

i chose lara for this one (instead of my mom) because of all the friends that i've had over the years, she's the only one that has lasted this long: EIGHT YEARS

A New Life Starting Over

so i know i've been.. less then around for this blog (wow its really been a year since my last post? scary). however, reading one of my "AWE-somest-friend-ever's" blog, i feel that is time to change that (i decided this a month ago, i've just been busy).

ms. haley has a cool challenge on her blog that i thought it would be fun to try. a 30 day (possibly won't be within or possibly over that time frame, but i'll try) challenge to share more about yourself.

so here goes - DAY ONE

10 facts about yourself:

1.
i ate chinese food for dinner and the fortune cookie teaches me how to say the chinese zodiac-sheep, which i find very ironic since my zodiac animal is, in fact, a sheep.
Lucky Numbers 54, 24, 50, 49, 15, 39

2. i hate my art marketing class the only useful thing i've learned is how to write a resume and i made a business card. the rest makes me feel poor, a tree murderer (my back pack is so heavy), and this is the first semester where i spent more than a weeks worth of days staying up past 1:00am for a single class.

3. i have a child-complex. beyond my nephews and nieces and the children i work with, i love staring at strangers children. stalker? nooo...

4. i try not to be a smarty-pants but sometimes you don't know the answer and i do...

5. if i could sew, i would so be a clothes designer. i love creating outfits for myself, friends, and characters. sadly, i will never be on project runway (my second favorite show).

6. i believe strongly that adults should watch more "children's" movies. i learn more from them than any PG-13 film.

7.
i'm not afraid to try new things (especially food), its just that sometimes i'm set in my ways, like that cow in the road that's been blocking you for 34 minutes.

8. i actually don't want to be a freelance artist. i wanna work for an employer and have to commute to work. i like the stability of an office (though the cubicles i could do without).

9. if i could i would have hair like Pocahontas (only in my natural golden brown), that's what i was going for my senior year when it suddenly began thinning out... thus my thick hair has become short hair.

10. i understand the things that i do today will ruin my future but i love lifting heavy things, ramen is my best friend, and i can't stop cracking my knuckles when the guy next to me sounds like a AK-47.

...yeah that was fun.~
